How to: Building an instant website

Webdesrs5Having your own homepage or a website is a must-have these days. So how to make your website quickly and easily? It’s easy to open a free web account where you can host your site for free. Most of the free hosting providers will usually give you basic WYSIWYG editor where you can build your pages instantly. Drawbacks of doing that is a lack of freedom when designing your webpages. Here I’ll show you how to build a website in no time. Now we know that you want your website to look as professional as possible. Can that be done for free? Well, yea it can. Macromedia Dreamweaver is a leading web authoring tool on the market but it’s rather expensive especially when you just want to make a semi-professional web site. Solution for this can be downloading Dreamweaver 30 days free trial ( see recourses below). Once you have downloaded Dreamweaver, you have noticed that it takes ages to start building your website as it is a professional software aimed at professional web designers so it doesn’t have any flashy templates that you can kick-start with. On the Internet there are so many websites that offer free website templates. Those are semi-finished websites or just pages that you can load up into your HTML editor and customize to suit your needs. You can put your own graphics, navigation buttons or anything else you need on your website. Here is how to build it in a few steps:

1. Download Dreamweaver free trial ( links below)

2. On the Internet search for free templates. You can do that by using your favourite search engine and type: “free website templates”. You will get many results listed. Some of the templates are free whilst for some you have to pay a fee in order to use them.

3. Unzip the template to a directory on your hard drive, load file “index.htm” or “main.htm” into dreamweawer and you are ready to start.

4. Start editing the page by adding your graphics text and other elements. Once you have finished and happy with how it looks like, save the page, open another one (if any) and do it again. If you only have one page, you can save it under different name and again change the text and headers if needed.

5. When your site is finished, you are ready to upload it to the server. Many of the free webspace sites will provide you either with FTP or HTTP access or you can upload and manage your pages.

I searched the web for a car template and I found on httP://www.free-dreamweaver-templates.org. I clicked on the link and it seemed to take me to another site, I’m not sure if it’s safe to buy from a site like this. The templates look really good but they don’t seem to go with the rest of the site and the payment section is under a completely different domain. Any ideas?
